Dental trauma
About 50% of all children and adolescents
in europe today have a dental trauma before reaching the age of 18.
Dental accidents when not diagnosed professionally and dealt with immediately
can lead to complete loss of gravely injured teeth.
The lifelong costs associated with an infantile dental trauma are extremely high.
In reality hardly any supervisors in schools, nursery schools, puplic pools or
sports clubs know how to react in the appropriate manner when a dental accident
occurs.
On this account the Center of Dental Traumatology of the University of Basle
developed a poster which informs of the recommended behaviour after a dental
trauma.
This poster could / should be hung where dental accidents occur most often: schools,
nursery schools, public pools, sports clubs and in every pediatrician's and dentist's
practise.
