Halitosis
Halitosis is a common problem, and often compromising in social
or work situations.
Patients afflicted with it usually wish to be completely
and permanently freed of the problem.
It is all the more surprising that very few doctors or dentists know
how to correctly treat halitosis. A reason for that is that universities
in europe don't teach
about halitosis and therefore the fundamentals of the subject matter are not
present.
The implications are useless medical and dental treatments without getting
rid of the problem.
Everything could be so easy if doctors or dentists knew
what
to whatch out for.

Dentists and dental hygienists can download the Halitosis Questionaire of the University of Basel/Switzerland to conduct a professional halitosis anamnesis.

Halitosis (2011)
In 2005, when the first book about the - then unusual - topic halitosis was published, nobody knew how sucessful it would be. Since then the subject has been greatly researched and the wealth of new scientific development has made a second edition necessary.
The new edition was almost completely rewritten with the addition of many new graphics and fotos to meet the current state of science. Next to detailed descriptions of epidemiology and the cause, diagnosis and therapy for halitosis the new book now offers a selection of detailed illustrated cases and a chapter on cultural history of halitosis.
The book is a compendium designed to aid dentists in their consultation of halitosis patients. Furthermore it helps students and practitioners to study and learn about the state of the art on the subject matter.
It is possible to order the book at Quintessenz-Verlag.
